Have been off the air recently. Will try to update as much as possible as soon as possible.

This is interesting…

The View from the Valley of Hell

July 17th, 2007

The View form the Valley of Hell (click on image to view front cover artwork)

Once again, a bit late, but here it is.
This went through a lot of iterations before getting to this stage. The map of the middle east was a nightmare, but thats what i’m paid for… I’m sure the men in black have surveillance on me after all the war and terrorist images i was looking for on the web for this cover. I think i trawled through hours of pages just to find the AK-47… this and Australian Jihad have me on their red flag list for sure…

The silhouettes are the author (Mark Willacy) and his camera man (Louis Eroglu)…

I Wouldn’t Start From Here

I Wouldn't Start from Here

This came in a while ago - but i haven’t had a chance to post anything for a while. I loved working on this cover - the idea came from Charles Krafft’s life-sized porcelain firearms and grenades…

The world map illustrates areas in the world that are “currently engaged in war, civil war, low level conflict or [have] troops deployed abroad.”

I had the opportunity to read sample chapters before i was briefed - and i loved the style and content. Andrew Mueller’s writing style wry and irreverent, and in trying to work out the absurdity of the world, he makes the usual horrors of war a little easier to read about.

Anyway. Check it out. Design and Illos by Bland Design.

Lotus Outreach Australia Launch

June 30th, 2007

Lotus Event (small)

Launch of the Lotus Outreach Australia website (designed and built by me) and fundraising event, last Thursday at GrantPirrie Gallery in Redfern. Clipping from The Sun Herald, 24 June, 2007. I’m in the bottom right corner. Kylie’s food was great, Saf sold some photos and heaps of money was raised for the cause.
